About CopyCat Music Licensing, LLC

CopyCat Music Licensing, LLC was formed in 2000 to serve a specialized niche within the music industry. The company specializes in assisting music supervisors, directors and companies obtain the music licenses needed in a modern marketplace for: film & tv, Internet downloads, DVDs, CDs and custom arrangements.

In addition to acting as a third-party licensing agent, CopyCat Music Licensing, LLC also serves as the licensing administrator for Oxford University Press, Créations Méandres, Inc., the publishing arm of Cirque du Soleil, Dunvagen Music Publishers,  LudwigMasters Music Publishing, Gramercy Music, Bravo Music, Back Alley Music, Encore Publications and Klavier Music Productions as well as on behalf of brilliant composers Eric Whitacre, Amin Bhatia, Jim Bonney, Tyondai Braxton, Daniel Montoya, Jr. and Anthony Yaklich.  While these composers, publishers and labels retain full ownership of their rights, CopyCat Music Licensing acts as their copyright department and licenses for their music can be obtained from us directly.



Jeni Paulson, President

Jeni has a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Business from Indiana State University where she studied under Professor James Slutz, one of the founders of the NAMM Affiliated Music Business Institutions (NAMBI) and a pioneer in the field of music business education. She credits Prof. Slutz with instilling her sense of humility and pride in a job well done.

A hallmark of Jeni's career has been a meticulous attention to detail and her thorough knowledge of the music industry’s ever-changing relationships has allowed her to effectively provide the services her clients require. Specifically, it is this industry experience that allows her personal network of contacts to transcend mergers, acquisitions, and job changes in pursuit of a client’s needs.

Jeni has presented copyright seminars at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic, the WGI Circuit Partner Symposium, Spinfest!!, the Big 10/Pac 10 Annual Meeting and the National Collegiate Marching and Athletic Band Symposium.

She has more than 20 years of experience in music licensing. She began her career in concert promotions in Milwaukee, WI before joining the Business Affairs department at Hal Leonard Corporation, one of the largest print publishers in the world. After leaving Hal Leonard Corporation Ms. Paulson recognized the need for growing organizations to obtain music licensing in a complex environment and started CopyCat Music Licensing, LLC.

Jeni is a member of MENC,the Association of Independent Music Publishers, A2IM and the Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity. She also serves as the associate member representative for the American Bandmasters' Association, of which CopyCat Music Licensing is a member. 



Yvette Rehberg, Licensing Manager

Yvette started her employment with CopyCat Music Licensing in May, 2006. She was previously employed at the La Crosse Center as the Box Office Supervisor for the 8,000 seat arena. She supervised shows for Keith Urban, Montgomery Gentry, Kid Rock, Trace Atkins, George Jones, Willie Nelson, Larry the Cable Guy, Disney, the Harlem Globe Trotters, Sesame Street Live, and many other diverse events. 

Yvette enjoys working with the many different people she has met since coming to work at CopyCat Music Licensing. She loves the challenges presented in obtaining the licenses needed by our clients and enjoys learning something new every day.
